Karlee Brehm, (She/Her)
Student Intern

I am a graduate student of clinical mental health counseling at Spalding University. In 2015 I received my bachelor’s degree in liberal studies with a focus on philosophy, women and gender studies, ASL interpreting studies, and African American studies.

We will work together to foster self-acceptance and compassion as well as explore meaning, purpose, and identity. I value creating a comforting, validating, and encouraging environment.

I respect each person’s unique experiences and consider the environmental and societal factors that have shaped and impacted them.

I believe it is through community and connection that we heal and grow. I enjoy identifying an individual’s strengths and spurring them on to be the person and live the life that feels most authentic to them.

My primary therapeutic approaches are feminist-multicultural, narrative, existential, and solution-focused.

“…it is enough to just exist in this world and marvel at it. You don’t need to justify that or earn it. You are allowed to just live.”
