Alyse Marsh, Student Intern

I am currently in my second year of pursuing an M.Ed in Counseling and Personnel Services with a concentration in Art Therapy. Previously, I developed professionally in leadership and customer service as my love for helping others began early in my career. However, over time I felt led to help others in a more meaningful way. Life experiences and a lifelong love for art called me to pursue the journey in helping others through their trauma. Throughout my life, art has consistently been a coping skill and has helped me through the most challenging times in life. I want to share my passion for art and the healing qualities that art can bring. My approach is integrative and client-focused to ensure personalized therapeutic experiences and genuine empathy for all my clients. I believe that every person has their own story to tell and is affected by the systems society puts into place. I believe in empowering all and helping others heal.

"A traumatic event can change our lives in an instant. But a moment of human connection can too. And when we combine that encounter with attuned, sensory-based responses we can begin to repair what has been ruptured. This is the core of expressive [art] therapies. They restore body and mind in ways that words alone cannot.” -Cathy Malchiodi, PhD
