Sophia Dew, M.Ed., LPCA, NCC
Licensed Professional Counselor Associate

I am a practicing Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA). I graduated from Lindsey Wilson College with a master’s degree in counseling and human development. Much of my counseling experience has been with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, and substance use disorders.

In every session, my intention is to create a therapeutic safe space with a sense of unconditional acceptance. Once a safe space has been established and we are processing life experiences, I often encourage the use of mindfulness and self-soothing (nurturance + emotional regulation) as a path toward self-love. If it seems appropriate, I like to spend some time focusing on somatic experiences, as I believe what happens in the mind often manifests in the physical body.

In all my counseling experience, I have truly felt lucky to work with people as they move toward growth and healing. I find that people usually find their answers within, but I enjoy being a guide toward revealing those answers and sharing the tools and techniques that clients need to cope with life’s stressors.
